Look after your ears
Interestingly as a producer or DJ the most important piece of kit you'll ever own is your hearing. And it doesn't take much to reduce the range of your hearing. I know I sound like your dad but you'll thank me whe you're trying to put down that final mix in the studio in a few years time. The boys at Proguard know this all to well and spend their time developing products which allow you to enjoy clear music in your ear without busting your drums. The custom fitted ones are particularly useful and for around the £130 quid mark is less than a decent external drive Find out more>

Seriously Warped
I’m seriously excited about the news of the WARP 20th Anniversary box set. If you’re not up to speed with WARP they really set their stand out in the early 90’s with a series of tranced out minimal tracks, which in all honesty were ahead of their time. These tracks had a real effect on me and were a big part of my set BITD. This bix set includes the classic LFO by LFO, as well as tracks from Nightmares On Wax, Squarepusher and the mighty Aphex Twin as well as specially commissioned remixes by Luke Vibert and Rustie. If you're not familiar with WARP records I suggest you check them out.

OOZE recodings
Generating real interest at the moment are Midlands based OOZE recordings. Their debut EP by Momentum (one half of the team that wrote the former Radio 1 Essential new tune and Ibiza favourite 'Bombdogs - I can't explain') made noises in all the right places. Following up the much-supported 'Plank' release on CGI records which was smashed by the likes of Sander Van Doorn, Marco V and Judge Jules as part of his tried & tested. Momentum does it again with 'Free thinker' & 'What feelings sounds like'. Look out for their latest releases Broken Logik 'Static solution' and 'White tide' available on Beatport and Craig Gallon 'La Terrace' coming soon. Visit OOZE recordings and if you can get on their mailing list for all the latest news and free downloads.
